Bloor Street Bike Lanes Shaw Street to Avenue Road Project Update

The Bloor Street Bike Lane Pilot Project was approved by City Council in May 2016. The installation of the separated bike lanes (cycle tracks) on Bloor Street West from Shaw Street (east of Ossington Avenue) to Avenue Road was completed in late August 2016.

The pilot project will allow us to demonstrate and study the impacts and benefits of bike lanes on Bloor Street. Extensive monitoring and evaluation is being carried out and will be reported to Council later this year.

From Councillor Cressy

As the 1-year Bloor Street bike lane pilot project continues, join me, Councillor Layton, and City staff on June 5th for a mid-pilot public consultation.

The City has been working hard on the extensive monitoring, evaluation, and consultation program since the project’s installation. Come out on June 5th to learn about the technical evaluation completed to date, review of summaries of ongoing public feedback, and discuss your experience, feedback and suggestions for the future.

You can find more information on the City’s website, or by viewing the meeting flyer here. Earlier this year, the City also released preliminary portions of data (collected 6 weeks after installation) that has been collected on the project. You can find more information here

NOTE: Stay tuned for details regarding a June SVRA meeting with City staff to discuss a very helpful set of updates and further information about the Bloor St Bike Lane Project that staff and the Councillor want to ensure is shared with the Seaton Village community.
