Vermont Square Park Community Clean up

We are a wash, folks!

Clean up is cancelled today owing to the rain that would make sweeping and raking a bit soggy and difficult.

The SVRA will post any alternate cleanup ASAP!

The Fringe Festival In Seaton Village?

The Fringe Festival is looking for a new venue starting in 2017.

COMMUNITY MEETING NOTICE (COMMUNITY MEETING NOTICEWednesday, May 11th at 6:30pm

Be a part of the discussion!

The Seaton Village Residents Association and The Toronto Fringe Festival are pleased to invite you to a community meeting

DateWednesday May 11, 2016

Time: 6:30 pm

Location:  Monsignor Fraser College Annex (700 Markham St.)

The proposal is for an ongoing annual partnership beginning with the 2017 Toronto Fringe Festival (July 5th -16, 2017).

Please join us as we work towards a cohesive vision that balances a community festival in a city neighbourhood.

We will discuss the proposed plan for the Toronto Fringe Festival to create a festival hub in the outdoor space at Monsignor Fraser College Annex

The festival hub is active daily for the 12 day festival, and includes an arts market, beer gardens and food vendors.

PLEASE NOTE: The SVRA supports the Fringe Festival in general and their search for a new location once Honest Ed’s parking lot is no longer available. The SVRA has not expressed support for the use of Monsignor Fraser’s lot as a location for the Fringe Festival.

This opportunity is for community members and Fringe organizers to discuss the POTENTIAL use of the site for 2017 and beyond.  The Fringe festival, Trustee Davis, the Ward 20 office and the SVRA have NOT already agreed to use of the site for the 2017 Fringe nor has any other partnership been agreed to.

This outreach is to ensure community members – especially those living in and around the site – are aware of the proposal and can participate in a more fulsome discussion about this event and any further decision-making.

So, please pass this information along and please attend this meeting to hear more about Fringe’s plans and express your comments and concerns to the festival organizers so organizers can learn how to proceed.

WHO WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE?
 Trustee Jo-Ann Davis
 Colin Burns from Councillor Cressy’s Office
 Marcello Mancuso, Principal of Msgr Fraser College
 Executive Director Kelly Straughan and Managing Director Lucy Eveleigh from the Toronto Fringe

  • Can’t attend? Questions? please email the SVRA: seatonvillagetoronto@gmail.com
