Happy New Year from the SVRA – we hope not many had to endure (lasting) power outages and severely cold homes throughout the holidays. Great neighbours and an active neighbourhood Facebook page keep us all connected when the chips are down….thanks to such a great and caring community for making a difference for those needing a warm bed and good company!
FIRES IN THE HOOD!
The SVRA and local residents are holding a series of evenings discussing home insurance and home fire prevention safety over the next few months. We are pleased to announce the first meeting:
“Do you really know the details of your home insurance policy?”
Have you even really bothered with the details – aside from providing them the estimated worth of your valuables? Do you actually know HOW to read your policy..?
What happens if and when you actually need to submit a claim and the insurance company says, you just aren’t covered for that.….Instead you get hoops to leap through and only partial payment leaving your family to cover what your insurance company refuses to……
On Thursday January 16th, 2014, the Seaton Village Residents’ Association is hosting an evening
HOME INSURANCE 101
Please join us and learn how to read your policy, how to maximize it in case of an unexpected and potentially devastating occurrence – like house fire – or if you or your neighbour may be planning to renovate.
If you have knob and tooth wiring you will want to come!
- Peter Karageogos of the Insurance Bureau of Canada
- Several local residents whose homes have succumbed to severe construction mishaps and fire. A special presentation will be made by Dan Adamson:
