November 1st Community Charette Workshop

The SVRA, the Vermont Square Park Renewal Committee, and Plant Architect Inc. in partnership with the City of Toronto are holding the second of 2 community design workshops (Charettes) Monday November 1st 7:00 -9:00 @ St. Albans Boys and Girls club in the library on the second floor.

We had a wonderful turnout in Vermont Square park last weekend on Saturday October 23rd. The theme explored was  “Paths and Small Gathering spaces.” Participants used balloons to imagine where a gazebo might be best situated and long ropes to consider where a variety of pathways might bisect and connect our park and neighbourhood.

This Monday night, we will be exploring the themes ” ‘Passive’ (Quiet, Non Recreational) and ‘Active’ (Recreational, Sport) uses of the Park. Yes, this includes, amongst many topics, the playground, the open green space, the empty or under-utilized spaces – the entire park!

To access the briefs submitted by the playground committee, members of our dog community and St Alban’s Youth Council:
