The Vermont Square Park Renewal is progressing along, after a somewhat slow summer. Here is what you need to know:
1. October 5, 7pm Palmerston Public School – there will be a two-hour kick of PARK RENEWAL meeting with our newly-hired consultants, Plant Architect. THEY WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! This meeting, is a preliminary open forum, it’s is all about listening to the community.
There will be five subject areas of 20 minutes each: 1) the playground and child’s play 2) teen and youth play 3) adult play 4) dog play and 5) social spaces.
Please come with ideas, and please tell your neighbours about it, as we have limited resources to advertise!
2. The next step will be a two charrettes (likely in the park) in mid-October, and then in November. Dates to be posted on this page.
3. Then Plant will come back with a proposed plan in December, at which point we will have another meeting, before getting the final plan submitted to the city in early January.
Andrew Ignatieff is your point person on the park plan, as the Chair of the Vermont Square Park Renewal Committee. He can be reached via email.
The next SVRA meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 7pm at the St. Alban’s Library (2nd Floor). All welcome!
While the Sing Thing had to be cancelled, we are going ahead with a reprise of the successful PUMPKIN PATCH we did last November 1. More details to come, so watch this space.
Finally, we are looking for volunteers to take over the website responsibility, and help with membership lists. If you know of someone or a few people who could help, or a high school student who needs volunteer hours, please have them contact Jen Hunter at email@example.com.
See you in October!
