Hi Ed - Thank you for taking on this project. I am interested in the history of Seaton Village since I bought my home 20 years ago and spent some time looking at records of former owners and photos of the area when it was first developed at the City Archives. I don't have any particular expertise but would be glad to be of help. In the meantime, I wanted to mention Louise Tandy Murch who lived on Vermont Ave. her whole life, and is commemorated in a documentary (dir. Deepa Mehta) called "At 99". Her brother Walter Murch is the legendary film editor who made it big in Hollywood. I would love to see something like a "Tandy Murch Lane" to commemorate her.

Hi Ed, and other name-researchers,
Although I detest the idea of more signs in general, if signage we must have, here are a couple of very quick thoughts: I've been told the east side, north end of Rossmore was once an orchard, and cattle grazed by the nearby creek. Thoughts of "Orchard Creek Lane" come to mind.
Second tidbit: the original families (circa 1904) who lived at #33 and #35 Rossmore were the McNabs and the Abercrombies. Perhaps they deserve a place in Seaton Village history.
Also, do you know anything about "Mammy" Brown, who lived around #103 Markham, which is one of the places that appear to be facing demolition by neglect?

I participated in Charette 1 and Phase 2 design meetings and would like to add another comment. I do not think that seating should be at the entrance to the Bill Bolton arena. This entrance is extremely busy with people coming and going every hour from 7:00 until 11:00 and if a bench is provided people would be running a gauntlet of smokers as the main standing activity at that door is SMOKING. If anyone wants to sit they could just come into the park where the other benches will have been provided. Putting in more bicycle racks would serve the community better and save the nearby trees! Thank you.
